to a luxury retreat nestled in the hills of the West Coast of Aotearoa, NZ.
Do you ever feel that you’ve lost yourself in the rite of passage from maiden to mother, unable to feel the edges of who you are?
Do you have urges, desires, creative needs and feel like they crash up hard against being constantly available for your children or other people?
It was women’s sacred space that got me through this era.
The silence, the singing, being seen and witnessed, seeing and witnessing other women. Sharing our stories, holding each other, dancing together and having a safe space to let our raw, wild essence out.
So six years ago I started the Dancing Forest Sisterhood Retreats.
The Dancing Forest Sisterhood is a subversive culture where women are free to be their wildest selves, to re-devote themselves to the Great Mother and their spiritual practice, and to experience great, giddy waves of delight and play.
Ritual, Play, Connection, Delight, Rest
This is the eighth retreat I have held and these days I find it vital to have a balance of exquisitely curated activities and spaciousness for this own group’s magic to emerge.
We will gather together early on Friday evening for dinner, and a welcome circle. We will hold a sacred circle and our hearts will meet and swoon over each other.
Saturday will be the perfect balance of nourishment for our bodies and our creative souls. We will share our stories, we will ritual together (I hereby declare ritual a verb), we will breathe life into our creativity. And we will eat delicious food prepared by our in house chef from The Sustainable Food Company.
In the evening we gather around a feast and fire to celebrate our re-emergence as our most sacred, devoted and playful selves. Still later, some might choose a late night bepoke adventure to mark the rebirth of their wild and cherished self.
On Sunday morning we will continue to ritual, move, create and share before parting ways at 11.
To give us the opportunity to connect with our fiery power and our deep rest.
A sauna, a hot tub, an ice bath – because our pleasure is our fuel for serving our families and communities
Hi, I'm Lucy
I am mother to two daughters, a life and business coach and author of Moon Circle, one of the first guides to creating sacred women’s circles ever written. I’m also neurospicy, a raver and a rebel!
More importantly, I am a devotee of the Great Mother and am in my most happy place when I am gathering women together so we can reveal our wild edges, sink our toes into moss and adore each other!

Prices are between $1300 NZ and $1500 NZ
depending on sleeping solo or in rooms of 2-4.
